PaP2: Your company’s political toolkit
Day-in and day-out government actions influence the quality of life for Pennsylvania families. Through laws, regulations and court rulings, state and federal leaders make decisions that impact your companies' ability to succeed, which in turn affects your employees’ jobs, wages, benefits, health care and livelihood.
Groups who are best at turning out voters generally have a great communications infrastructure to help them succeed. As a business, you probably have a great communications infrastructure, too. As an employer, your company has another tremendous asset: a group of people with a shared, personal stake in the candidates and policies that impact your jobs and industry. Your employees are your greatest political resource and the lack of employee involvement can mean the difference between electing an official who supports manufacturing and one who does not.
The Pennsylvania Prosperity Project is an effective way for the business community to communicate its message to employees. The P2 is a nonpartisan effort to help employers increase and improve their communication with employees about the public policies and elections that impact their firms.
Through the interactive tools available on this Web site, you can find your federal and state legislators and review their voting records on business issues. This web site also provides a "clearinghouse" to learn more about the public policy views and goals of Pennsylvania industries and business associations.
You employees can download a form to register to vote, find their polling place, or download an application for an absentee ballot from this Web site. Strict privacy is maintained. No personal or contact information is requested or kept. The employer, political parties and interest groups will NOT know that your employee visited this site.
