ERIE - The Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA), in conjunction with the MBA Business Magazine, will host its third annual IMPACT Luncheon & Nonprofit Fair from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the MBA Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street. Registration begins at 11:15 a.m. All media are invited to attend.
The event, which is geared toward employers, will showcase area nonprofits — and the many volunteer and outreach opportunities that are available in the region.
“This is our signature event of the summer and a great way for our members to connect and to make an even greater impact on the communities in which they operate,” says MBA President and CEO Lori Joint. “We recognize that community involvement can improve company culture by increasing engagement and creating happier workplaces, which is a huge benefit.”
Featured speaker for the event is Karen Bilowith, president and chief executive officer of The Erie Community Foundation (ECF), who will share an update on the highly anticipated giving event Erie Gives on August 13 — the impact that it has on area nonprofits, employers and the community — as well as ECF’s goals and objectives, and what service means to one of the area’s most notable nonprofit leaders.
Bilowith joined The Erie Community Foundation in October 2021. She leads the Foundation’s efforts to inspire, engage and empower donors and communities across the region by working closely with a committed board of trustees and staff. Bilowith currently serves on the Erie Action Team and Board of Managers for Infinite Erie and the Board of Directors for both the Nonprofit Partnership and PACFA (Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association). She is also the team lead of the Erie Supportive Housing Project, which addresses the increasingly complex needs around homelessness. Bilowith is a member of the Hamot Health Foundation Board of Corporators and the Erie Women’s Fund of The Erie Community Foundation.
Bilowith holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College. She is a current board member of Pennsylvania Association of Community Foundations.
Cost for the event is $40 for MBA Members and $70 Nonmembers and includes lunch.
