Erie Innovation District CEO to Provide Update at Association’s September 6 Eggs ’n’ Issues
ERIE – Karl Sanchack, president and chief executive officer of the Erie Innovation District (EID), will be the guest speaker at the Manufacturer & Business Association’s Eggs ‘n’ Issues briefing starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, September 6, at the Association’s Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street and Pittsburgh Avenue. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. All media are invited to attend.
As part of his presentation, Sanchack will outline the EID’s plan to make Erie an innovation hub for data science, safety and cybersecurity. Aimed at attracting global companies, startups and job creators, the program, which is overseen by Mercyhurst University, is funded by a $4 million grant provided by the Erie Community Foundation in partnership with the Susan Hirt Hagen Fund for Transformational Philanthropy and the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.
Sanchack, who was named president and CEO of the EID in September 2017, previously served as managing director of AB Innovations LLC, a Virginia-based consulting firm focused on best practices in innovation, with 25 years of technology and innovation management experience from Silicon Valley through the aerospace and defense industries.
